How to Travel for Cheap this Summer and All Year

For Moms who want to save money and stay on budget

Summertime has come and with that, summer vacation. Summertime is like the strip club, clothes come off and money goes up carelessly in the AIR!! Judgement is questionable, and rational thoughts might go out the window because all anyone cares about is having fun.

Summertime happens, and Moms throw budgets out the window, which is terrifying, because we work so hard the first 6 months of the year to develop workable budgets that we can stick to. When I asked Moms what they spent the most on during this time, most said VACATION! Not summer camp or local activities but actual vacations.

3 Ways Investing in Yourself Can Pay Off

How my ticket to the Mom 2.0 Summit paid for itself

I am a HUGE believer in personal development, for growing your brand and your brain. In the spirit of this, I decided to attend a Mom Blogger conference this May in Pasadena, California called the Mom 2.0 Summit. Just to be clear, the Mom 2.0 Summit is THE conference for mom bloggers (I had no idea beforehand that this conference was so huge)!!

Now, when I purchased my tickets I was still in debt. But after spending some time combing through articles from the conference last year, it felt like the right move to spend some money and get my behind to Cali. So, while the ticket price was high, it HONESTLY didn’t phrase me (already in debt though I was!). Sometimes ideas just hit you and feel right, you know? I saved and saved and purchased my ticket. And let me tell you, that sizable amount of money I spent, was hands down the BEST purchase I have made all year! The Mom 2.0 summit paid for itself AND some extra.

What I learned from a car ride with my ex-husband

As I prepared to leave for the Mom 2.0 Summit this past week, I asked my ex-husband to drop me off to the airport. Now if you know me, you would be like girl “nuh uh”, because I cannot stand the man but, frankly, I did not want to drag my mom and mini out, so he was up at bat! He dropped me off at my terminal, give me $60 for the trip, hugged me and told me he loved me, patted me on the butt and walked away! (Just joking about the butt part LOL). But we had made it a full 45 minutes without me wanting to pull my hair out. So, I find myself reflecting on several points.

2 Reasons to Cash in Your Retirement Fund Now

Why have a retirement fund when you are drowning in debt?

So your parents encouraged you to work for a company that had a “good” 401k plan. One that would match whatever you put into it, for up to a particular percent. I mean it sounds like free money and that is always a good thing, right? They show you how much they have in their 401k accounts or IRA and you are wowed by the amount they have amassed. But how long did it take them to get all that? Or on the flip side, is the amount so small that they would need help from you as they get older. Well, I challenge you to say HOLD UP to retirement funds and here’s why…
